Pricing and Services

 
 

Registered Social Worker (RSW) Counselling fees may be covered by your private insurance plan or employee group benefits plan. These fees are also applicable as medical expenses for tax deductions.

Please contact your insurance provider to determine your eligibility for fee coverage.

Face to Face Counselling

$120/hour — Individual sessions are billed per hour; a “therapeutic hour” is considered 50 minutes counselling session and 10 minutes charting time.

Cyber-Counselling (COMING SOON!)

$75/hour — Great effort is made to ensure you feel as comfortable with an online presence as you would feel sitting together in our office. The responses are carefully crafted and individualized to your needs/concerns and as such, this takes about an hour of time per email exchange/ chat session.

Cancellation Policy

Except for emergency circumstances, you will be responsible for paying the full session fee if you do not provide at least 24 hours notice for a cancelled appointment. This advanced notice allows us to offer that time slot to someone else in need. Thank you for your understanding.

Payment Methods Accepted

Cash, cheque or emailed money transfer (prior to your session) are the current payment methods accepted. Receipts will be provided with your counsellor’s Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers registration number at the time of payment. Please note we are unable to bill insurance companies directly.

Methods of Communication

We may be reached by phone, email or the secure website “contact me” form. You are encouraged to keep email communication for the scheduling of appointments and not for sharing of personal information. Please see the privacy policy for more information about this.

We are happy to speak with you by phone for a brief free consultation as a private means of speaking about your concerns and asking any questions you may have to determine whether we are a good fit for working together towards a better tomorrow.

Voicemails and emails will always be responded to as soon as possible, and likely within the same business day if received before noon unless otherwise noted on the automated email response or on the outgoing voicemail message. Please listen carefully to the voicemail message for this purpose. To protect client privacy, please do not drop by the office without prior arrangement as we may be with another client and therefore unable to assist you. This is a shared work-space and a colleague may be utilizing the space at times when your counsellor is not present.

Please note that we are NOT able to offer crisis services. For immediate assistance please attend your local hospital Emergency Department, call 911 or your local crisis line. For Kingston, Ontario residents, these are your crisis options:

Telephone Calls

Telephone calls are welcome and the voicemail messages are confidential and retrieved only by your counsellor. However, should the call exceed 15 minutes, the right is reserved to charge at the same rate as cybercounselling.
